Gao Yunlong met with Burkina Faso Parliament National Assembly President
Gao Yunlong, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), met with Alassane Bala Sakandé, parliament president of the National Assembly of Burkina Faso, in Beijing on Mar. 26, 2019. The two had a pleasant exchange on promoting Chinese private enterprises development in Burkina Faso.
2018 saw Chinese President Xi Jinping and the president of Burkina Faso hold a productive meeting during the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), which has opened up a new chapter of China-Burkina Faso relations with mutual trust, equality and win-win cooperation.
Gao said that meeting pointed a direction for long-term development of the bilateral relations between the two countries. In fact, there are strong economic complementarity and broad space for cooperation in agriculture, infrastructure and new energy development. Chinese government support private enterprises to invest and undertake trade exchange in Burkina Faso.
He hoped that the two countries strengthen political trust, civil exchange and economic cooperation that benefit bilateral ties and the people.
Gao also introduced that the ACFIC was a civil organization and business chamber for private entrepreneurs.
He said that Chinese private enterprise had developed rapidly and become essential economic stabilizer, major source for national revenue, main body of technology innovation, primary foundation for financial development and crucial force for healthy development of the economy.
Private enterprises that investing abroad accounted for 60 percent of China’s non-financial foreign investment. He elaborated.
The ACFIC will continue promoting the implementation of the meeting agreements from the Beijing Summit of FOCAC by enhancing practical cooperation between corporations from China and Africa.
Sakandé said the meeting was aimed at implementing the cooperation consensus reached by the two heads of state in 2018 and deepening economic cooperation between China and Burkina Faso.
He introduced that Burkina Faso had advantages in agricultural production of sesame, tomato, chili, potato, ginger, nut and cotton, and in resources including solar energy, petrol and natural gas. Besides, there’s still a large space for technological development in water resources utilization, solar power generation, agricultural products processing, transportation and other aspects.
He hoped that Chinese enterprises could bring advanced technology to solve their water resource utilization problem, to promote the deep processing of agricultural products, to improve the living and working conditions of local women through agricultural mechanization and organizational operation, and to bring convenience to villages and families in the country through solar power generation technology.
He also invite Chinese enterprises to investigate and invest in Burkina Faso, and actively participate in the construction of affordable housing and the development of medical and health care.
Gao Yunlong said the core concept of "consultation, co-construction and sharing" of the Belt and Road Initiative proposed by President Xi had provided big opportunities for world economies and was a great experiment to build a human community with shared destiny.
Gao said the ACFIC would encourage more Chinese enterprises with mature technology of agricultural mechanization, photovoltaic power generation and infrastructure construction to go to Burkina Faso so as to make solid contribution to the livelihood improvement and female labor emancipation in Burkina Faso.
During the meeting, Lu Jian, board chairman of the RWY Security Service Group, Zheng Haosheng, board chairman of King Deer, and Tao Zhong, board chairman of the Shandong Taikai Power Engineering Co. Ltd, gave speeches on their corporation and business development.
Wang Shengming, deputy chairman of the supervisory and judicial commission of the National People’s Congress (NPC) and deputy director of the NPC’s China-Burkina Faso friendly exchange group, Wang Yongqing, vice Chairman of the ACFIC, Ma Jun, director of the communication department of ACFIC, Liu Rui, vice director of the foreign affairs bureau of the General Office of the NPC Standing Committee, and Counsellor Zhou Ping from the Department of Africa with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs attended the meeting.
