ACFIC vice chairman Wang Yongqing attended Wolrd Economic Forum
At the invitation of the World Economic Forum, Wang Yongqing, vice chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), attended the 2019 World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland, from January 21 to 24, 2019.
The theme of this year's meeting is "Globalization 4.0: Shaping a Global Architecture in the Age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution". Chinese Vice-President Wang Qishan delivered a speech titled "Stay Confident and Work Together for A Shared Future" on Jan. 23.
The meeting was participated by over 3000 global elites of various fields from more than 100 countries and regions. Together they discussed on the measures to counter challenges brought by economic globalization and the 4th industrial revolution.
ACFIC’s vice-chairman Wang Yongqing attended the opening ceremony and themed forums including Rethinking Global Financial Risk, Shaping Globalization 4.0, Globalization: Retreat or Reinvention? Governing Data, China Economic Outlook, China’s Night, Dalian’s Night, and “Globalization 4.0 and China’s inclusive growth” hosted by the China Minsheng Investment Co.,ltd.
Wang also met with the chairman of the Federation of Chilean Industry and Commerce, Bernado.
Wang was the speaker for China in the “Advancing the Belt and Road Initiative: China’s Trillion-Dollar Vision” session. He advertised the Belt and Road Initiative and delivered China’s confidence and resolution in deepening reform and opening-up by citing specific cases with numbers of the achievement made by Chinese private sector over the past 40 years of reform and opening-up and especially in the last five years since the Belt and Road Initiative was firstly advocated.
He also sent invitations to the attendees, asking them to participate in the business conference on the 2nd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation this year.
Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev and Singaporean Finance minister Heng Swee Keat attended the forum. They both responded positively to Chinese speaker’s remarks and spoke highly of Chinese private enterprises’ role in the Belt and Road Initiative.
